 ATSI was founded in 2006 by Don Burns, who is still a partial owner in the company. Prior to the company’s founding, Don worked for a large electrical contractor in Knoxville where he made numerous connections and built a strong reputation for his work. These critical relationships made it an easy decision when he began to examine the possibility of opening his own business. |
| From 2006 to 2009 ATSI enjoyed a very gradual rate of controlled growth assembling industrial control panels. The company never grew more than five full time employees and enjoyed a strong reputation among a small, but very loyal customer base. |
| In the summer of 2009, Don and all other owners decided it was time to start examining new markets. Therefore, it was decided that new ownership would be brought on to manage and lead ATSI in a new direction. In August of 2009, Bill Nalls became the 51% owner of ATSI and a new business plan was put into effect. |
| Based on this new business plan, ATSI now has developed three main segments: a manufacturing/assembly arm that excels at building industrial control panels, an electrical contracting segment that has focused on the federal market, and an electrical testing arm that focuses on industrial and commercial markets. |
